In the windows vista or 7 you just go to your sounds and look at playback devices. the acceleration doesn't seem to have any effect. just lower the sample rate until audio in the game is good for you. In the speaker settings section hit advanced. Well for me lowering my systems audio quality/audio sample rate worked. I think maybe someone might still have an issue with sound, and also don't find a good fix. many suggest lots of other changes to this. i know this is very old, but this is the first result in google.
